A haunting poem about a man who betrays loved ones for wealth, only to lose everything and face a life of regret.

He stood before
the gleaming pen,
A devil’s contract
there and then.
π€π€π€
Temptation
whispered in his ear,
“Sign your name;
there’s naught to fear.”
π€π€π€
The ink was red,
the promise gold,
The price unspoken,
truth untold.
π€π€π€
π€π€π€
For silver coins,
he turned his face.
Betraying love
for wealthβs embrace.
π€π€π€
They thought that they
could steal her light,
To bask in glow
not theirs by right.
π€π€π€
But all they gained
was fleeting flame,
A hollow crown,
an empty name.
π€π€π€
Just a pawn in
Godβs grand plan,
Unknowing,
betrayed his clan.
π€π€π€
π€π€π€
God used the Queen
to test his heart,
And greed tore
every bond apart.
π€π€π€
He failed the test;
his soul now chained,
His wealth dissolved,
his fortune drained.
π€π€π€
Stripped of gold,
his treasures gone,
Condemned to toil
from dusk till dawn.
π€π€π€
The Devil laughs,
the deal complete,
The man undone,
his fate concrete.
π€π€π€
π€π€π€
For riches gained
by love betrayed,
Will fade as shadows
strip the shade.
π€π€π€
And in the dark,
his hollow cry.
A soul now lost,
a heart run dry.
π€π€π€
Now frail and bent,
diseased, near death,
He gasps for peace
with every breath.
π€π€π€
The Devil waits,
a smirking shade,
To claim the soul,
the bargain made.
