Masks of Deceit – A Poem

Beneath the guise
of virtue’s glow,
Lies a shadow,
dark and low.

👺👺👺

A helping hand,
a tender smile,
Concealing hearts,
corrupt and vile.

👺👺👺

They wear the cloak,
the saintly face,
But deeds betray
their hollow grace.

👺👺👺

Their words like honey,
sweet and smooth,
Yet hide the poison
of their truth.

👺👺👺

Beware the mask,
the shining light,
For not all gold
glows true at night.

👺👺👺

Abusers lurk
in false disguise,
Their kindness
but a web of lies.
